Living After Abuse
What People Are Saying About Rhonnie & The Book
Into every generation there seems to come messengers  of  brutal  truth.  Rhonnie  is  one  of
these.  She takes the reader on a journey into  a child's nightmare  and guides us  by  her  fine
sense of   her own ability to survive.  She  describes  cruel,  even  savage  darkness.  Into  this
she shines the bright and sometimes harsh light of her spirit..."
-- Mary O'Connor,  MA, MSW, CSW

"If you do  not read this book for any other reason, you  should  read  it  to  give  yourself   a
better understanding   of   the  problems  caused  by  child  abuse  and  neglect.  If   you   are
one  who   has  experienced   child   abuse  or  neglect,  maybe  you  can  find   the  strength
from the one person's triumph to  start on  the  road   to   healing.  Perhaps    this   book   will
the   impetus  for  others to break the cycle of abuse and save other children from the horrors
that they have experienced."
-- Troy W. Turner,  Child Protective Services

"In  a  gripping  and  well-written  narrative, So, What's Normal?   LIFE   AFTER   PEDOPHILIA,
ABUSE AND NEGLECT
shines  a spotlight  on  one  of   this   country's  most  pressing   health
problems--child sexual abuse in the family.  Rhonnie courageously speaks out  about  her own
abuse in a way the will inspire you to learn the facts  about child molestation, to  focus  on   its
cause, and to take action to protect the children around  your  from  ever  being  molested..."
                           -- Whitney Gabriel, Executive Director,
Child Molestation Research and Prevention Institute

"So, What's Normal?  Life After Pedophilia, Abuse and Neglect is  a blunt  book.  It   recounts a
tale  of almost unimaginable savagery and ultimate triumph from the personal perspective of a
remarkable woman, and  her  recollection  of  battles  with  dismay, horror  and  betrayal  from
earliest childhood on..."
                           -- Charles W. Bethea,  Ph.D.

"In the book you are about  to read, Rhonnie shares the  story  of  her own childhood  sexual
abuse.  Through her words, we can begin to understand her pain,  suffering,  and   heartache.
Through  her courageous  example, we  can see how  she  has  broken  cycles of  abuse  and
what she has done to create  and maintain  a sense  of  safety  and  new meaning  in  her  life.
Her example adds fuel to the hope that all victims of   childhood  sexual   abuse   can   recover
and  go  on  to live  healthy, fulfilling  lives  abounding  with  healthy meaningful  and  enriching
relationships.
-- Gregory J. Worthington,  PsyD, LLP

In  my  work  with  the  abused, I   have   recommended  Rhonnie's  book   time   and   again.
Rhonnie's book is difficult to read.  I urge all of you to press  through the  hard stuff and READ
THIS BOOK. You will  end  this  book proactive towards child  abuse, rather  than  choosing  to
ignore it. This is part of the answer to stopping the epidemic of child abuse  that  is rampant  in
our society today! We  must  be OUTRAGED with adults abusing  children, and  get   involved,
report it, and seek help for the children, as well  as the  abusers. Get  this  book  in  the  hands
of  everyone  you  can!  It  will  change  your perspective and change your life!

I am so impressed that Rhonnie had  the  courage to write her story and  open  her life  for  all
to  read  about. That  couldn't have  been   easy. It put  her  in  a position  with  family   to  be
targeted  for  her refusal  to  stay  in  denial  of  the   family secrets. Thank  you,  Rhonnie,  for
caring so much for America's abused children,  that  you  subjected  yourself  to  persecution,
ridicule and  facing  your own pain and agony.Thank you, Rhonnie for inspiring us into action!!
