I have just finished reading Rhonnie's book. I could not put it down, nor could I read it without
having a multitde of emotions! I have never been abused, so to say that I was stunned at
shocked at what some adults do to innocent children is beyond my realm of thinking.
I grew up in a loving Christian family. My father was a minister for 23 years. I new about abuse,
but didn't really think about it until my daughter was raped. I was completely devasted! I didn't
know exactly how she was feeling or what I should do to help her.
I thank God that she first went to Rhonnie instead of me. My daughter was very good friends
with Rhonnie's daughters, and she and Delbert were like her second set of parents. When I
think back on that God awful day, I realize now that my daughter knew about Rhonnie's past
and knew that she could trust her; that Rhonnie would know how to tell me what happened.
Without Rhonnie's strong support, we might not have gotten through her nightmare.
Rhonnie keeps telling me to do anything it takes to keep my kids safe, and now I understand
her advice so much better. I am so lucky that I have the greatest pleasure of knowing such an
incredible woman. I have never known anyone as strong as her.
After reading this book, I am passing it on to my daughter and telling everyone that I know to
get a copy of their own and read it and feel the horror , so we as a community can stop this
most horrific abuse!
This is the most profound book that I have ever read, and I would advise everyone to read it
for it will change your life!
